Stellar MLS CEO Elected to Council of Multiple Listing Services Board for 2020 Term

(ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL) October 21, 2019 – Stellar MLS is proud to announce the election of CEO, Merri Jo Cowen, to the Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS) Board of Directors as Secretary Treasurer Officer for the 2020 term.

CMLS is renowned in organized real estate as the trade representation group for MLS organizations nationwide. CMLS’ Board of Directors is led by dedicated real estate industry professionals who volunteer to serve on their board each year. These seasoned professionals offer their influential thought leadership and advocacy for progressive policy and innovation in real estate. In concert with MLSs nationwide, Brokers, NAR® and local associations, CMLS’ dedicated group of volunteer leadership help shape the real estate space for buyers, sellers, practitioners and vendors in alignment with emerging technologies and professional standards through the lens of the multiple listing service.

Merri Jo Cowen, chief executive officer for Stellar MLS, brings more than 30 years of real estate industry experience to her role as Secretary Treasurer Officer for CMLS in the upcoming year, and has been pioneering and championing the value of CMLS to the MLS space for 25 years as a member, not only at a national level, but also at her own MLS. Through her leadership and CMLS support, her staff at Stellar MLS now claim the most CMLX certifications (the educational platform governed by CMLS) earned nationwide, helping to keep Stellar in line with best practices and advances in the real estate space.

Merri Jo has previously served as a director on the CMLS Board and as their President. Of her most recent appointment to the CMLS Board, Merri Jo stated, “My commitment to CMLS has always been strong. I believe CMLS must continue on its journey to be the ‘voice of the MLS’ in a passionate and visionary way. CMLS is in a growth period, and I am looking forward to helping the organization chisel out its impactful place in an ever-changing industry.
